St. Petersburg City Tour

This morning after a nice sleep in….maybe longer for some than others…… We boarded the bus for a tour of the city.  We saw some beautiful churches, buildings and squares.  We didn't know much about Russian history when we started but the tour guide was great - Czar's murder, scandal, politics, and blood shed provided something interesting for everyone.  We even went to church given it was Sunday and were able to hear the choir and see part of the service of a traditional Russian Orthodox service.

St. Issac's Cathedral - yes it is still dark at 11 am
There are bruises in pillars from the bombing...

Neva River

St. Nicholas's Cathedral

Hughie and Kenn go to church….

Peter and Paul Basilica

Crypts of the Czars - boys wondered how deep the bodies were buried….
Church of the Spilled Blood - its red for a reason...
A very skilled bus driver coping with double parking
